Journey

Abhay graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he experimented across fine arts, graphic design, animation, and VFX. It was only after college that he realized he wanted to be an artist rather than work for studios like Marvel or Disney.

After moving back to India, he felt something was missing, authenticity. So he began blending surrealism with Indian roots, then moved towards pop art, creating a hybrid style that stuck.

Three to four years ago, he started CODE BRWN, a streetwear label rooted in Indian culture. He wanted to create something that showed India is more than ethnic wear, molding history into something new.

Style

Abhay works with surrealism, pop art, and Indian cultural references. His style is intricate and detailed, but what he values most is when viewers bring their own imagination to the work, making their own meaning rather than just seeing the surface.

His concepts come from his own life. He doesn't lock into one specific theme, life itself is the theme. Women are often the main subjects in his art, bringing empathy and understanding to his compositions.
