Journey

Lakshmi studied Fine Arts at Stella Maris College. After starting a children's boutique, she returned to painting and expanded into textile design.

Her design philosophy was shaped by documenting heritage sites for the Sanskrit film Sakuntalam. She traveled extensively with historian and art critic Ashrafi S Bhagat, visiting sites such as Puri Jagannath Temple, Raneh Falls, Gwalior Fort, Ajanta and Ellora Caves, and Sanchi Stupa.

These experiences deepened her understanding of India's architectural and cultural heritage.

Style

Lakshmi's designs integrate heritage themes with bold colors. She creates motifs and patterns reflecting specific historical sites. Working primarily with Chanderi fabric, she reimagines history through contemporary fashion, with each design rooted in a central heritage theme.
